The successful applicant will:

  • Have experience with the full stack of cloud-based application development, including both front-end and back-end systems.
  • Be highly experienced with web stack frameworks, including Angular, MongoDB, Node.js, Typescript, Javascript, and Express.
  • Understand how to work in HTML and CSS.
  • Have knowledge of the Git version control system and be able to maintain code integrity and organization of a large existing codebase.
  • Have experience and commitment to unit testing, continuous integration, and code documentation.
  • Have strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Have experience working with AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with Docker and SSL a plus.

Backend Software Developer Wanted

We are seeking a self-driven and passionate software engineer to help advance a software platform to improve the analysis of gene expression sequencing data for research and clinical uses. We are seeking a backend software developer to enhance, integrate and optimize an existing moderately-sized C++, Go, and Python codebase and who can develop new, efficient software for processing large data genomic data sets.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in C++11/14/17 with several years of commercial experience.
  • A commitment to, and demonstrated history of, writing high-quality, efficient, readable, and documented C++ code.
  • Familiarity with common C++ libraries and tools such as the standard library, Boost, zlib, and cmake or other modern build systems.
  • Experience with writing highly parallelized and multi-threaded software.
  • Experience in other programming languages.

Devops Engineer Wanted

Want to help expand the use of genomics in research and healthcare? We are seeking a self-driven and passionate DevOps engineer to operationalize our existing SaaS genomics analysis platform.

Our mission is to provide the world’s most efficient, accurate, and comprehensive gene expression analyses platform. The DevOps engineer responsibilities are to help improve and and extend our current state-of-the-art gene expression and transcriptome analysis software.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Multiple successful public cloud deployments of customer facing web applications with associated data processing infrastructure.
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration software (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, etc.).
  • Proficiency with basic database administration tasks, such as provisioning regular backups and ensuring that best practices around security are followed.
  • Knowledge and use of CI/CD systems and practices.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

The following skills are a plus, but not required:

  • Integration of workflow management systems (e.g. Snakemake or Nextflow) with Kubernetes.
  • Extensive experience with AWS and associated services, such as AWS Cognito.
  • Programming experience with any of the following languages: JavaScript, Golang, C#, Rust, C++, Python.

Computational Biologist

Want to help develop new, efficient, accurate methods to analyze large collections of RNA-seq data and help translate research best practices into clinical use? We are seeking a self-driven and passionate computational biologist with experience in genomics and gene expression to drive the development of data analyses for a new web platform for gene expression analyses and to interface with customers to help solve interesting data analysis challenges.

  • A Ph.D. or M.S. in computational biology (or a related field) or several years experience in commercial genomics data analysis.
  • A demonstrated history of successful data analysis projects.
  • Experience with analysis of large collections of genomic or transcriptomic sequencing data sets.
  • Proficiency using machine learning for genomic or transcriptomic analyses.
  • Experience with relevant statistical tests, multiple hypothesis correction, and standard ML best practices (cross validation, training/test/validation splits, etc.)
  • Experience with standard genomics software such as sequence aligners, expression quantifiers, variant callers, etc.
  • Experience working with FASTQ-, BAM-, and VCF-formatted data.
  • Proficiency in R or Jupyter notebooks.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience with gene expression particularly (differential gene expression tests, GSEA, etc.) a plus.

The successful applicant will be tasked with helping to develop improved gene expression analyses for a cloud-based web platform, working with software developers and other computational biologists. They will also interface with clients to understand and conduct customer-initiated analysis tasks.
